Zynga distances itself from Facebook

Zynga is taking a little more distance from the world’s number one social network.

One year later Having announced the launch of its own platform, the social gaming specialist said that followers of Farmville and other titles would now be able to play without going through their Facebook account. Facebook Connect would thus become a simple option and no longer a necessary step, explains Techcrunch.

As a reminder, in the 4th quarter of its 2012 financial year, Zynga recorded a turnover of $ 311 million, against the $ 212 million expected by analysts. Its quarterly turnover therefore remains stable compared to the 4th quarter of 2011.

The social gaming specialist also recorded a net loss of $ 48.6 million over the same period. This is good news, however, since the group had suffered a net loss of $ 435 million a year earlier.
