Zhongji buys assets from “Family Farm” publisher for $ 960 million

The Chinese publisher FunPlus Interactive has just sold one of its subsidiaries to Zhongji Holding, a company based in Shaghai, for $ 960 million (721.5 million euros, editor’s note). More precisely, it is DianDian Interactive, its branch dedicated to mobile games and social networks which has been sold.

Profitable, it has 120 employees and brings together 4 million players every day and is notably at the origin of Family Farm, a game available in 16 languages, or titles Happy Acres and Royal story. These opuses were edited on models free-to-play, that is, with free access to the game and services or options inside.

$ 74 million raised in March

“The mobile market in Asia, and in particular in China, will be a huge growth driver for our industry. We believe that it will grow exponentially, and that Chinese public market investors will value innovative games and entertainment companies with a global vision, ”said Andy Zhong, CEO and co-founder of FunPlus.

With this new liquidity, FunPlus intends to pursue its investments, recruit new talents and accelerate its international expansion. Last March, the company, which has offices in San Francisco, Vancouver and Beijing, realized a funding round of $ 74 million with Orchid Asia Group, GSR Ventures and Steamboat Ventures.
