Jim Patterson and Zack Parker (ex-Yammer) raise funds from former investors in the corporate social network sold to Microsoft.
CoTap, a start-up developing a professional mobile messaging application, has just completed a first round of funding of 4.2 million euros with Charles River Ventures and Emergence Capital Partners funds.
George Zachary and Jason Green, two investors in the latter fund, also join on the board the co-founders Jim Patterson and Zack Parker, two alumni of Yammer, the corporate social network bought back 925 million euros in June 2012 by Microsoft. Note that Charles River Ventures and Emergence Capital Partners were also Yammer’s first investors.
CoTap is a start-up developing a mobile messaging application like WhatsApp or Line, but which relies on greater security to reach an audience of professionals. The funds raised should allow the start-up to enrich its teams and release a first free version of the application on iOS and Android.
