XAnge Private Equity injects nearly € 1.5m into the UK’s The Currency Cloud

XAnge Private Equity, a venture capital subsidiary of La Banque Postale, has just announced an investment of nearly € 1.5m (£ 1.2m) in the UK The Currency Cloud.

In total, between the start of the year and the summer of 2012, the company raised nearly € 7m (GBP 5.7m) from Atlas Venture, Notion Capital, Anthemis and XAnge Private Equity.

Created in 2009, the service publishes a platform in the cloud, specializing in the automation of international transfers and currency exchange.

Thanks to this capital increase, The Currency Cloud intends to accelerate its growth, particularly in continental Europe, but also to continue technological developments of the transfer platform.

The Currency Cloud is the 3rd investment of the French fund XAnge Capital 2, whose first closing took place in December 2011 for € 60m. Based in Paris and Berlin, the new entity is intended to invest in innovations promoting digital exchanges.

Last May, XAnge Private Equity announced its first release in Germany with the resale, for an undisclosed amount, of the start-up Iptego, specializing in VoIP services.

Among these latest operations in France, we find: Republic Mobiles, Royal cactus, Kiss Kiss Bank Bank or the market place Alittlemarket.com and society Mixcommerce.
