According to the latest figures published by ComScore, in the United States, 36% of smartphone owners have made purchases from their mobile at least once while in a store.
However, the home remains the most suitable place for m-commerce. Thus, 56% of respondents have already made purchases from their mobile when were at home. Workplaces and outings are tied for second (42%). Then comes public transport (37%).
Even less widespread in France, m-commerce would still concern nearly 12M French people. Most mobile purchases are made from mobile sites and not via mobile applications. M-commerce is therefore largely boosted by the success of smartphones. Today, in France, 4 out of 10 mobile phone users are now equipped with it, i.e. 27% more in 6 months.
