Weebly arrives in France to convince micro-businesses

by bold-lichterman

The American specialist in the simplified creation of Weebly websites has landed in France, with a strategy: targeting micro-entrepreneurs who do not have the means to go through a digital agency, or the technical skills. This American company, created in San Francisco in 2007, already had several thousand customers in France. This time, it wants to accelerate with an adapted offer and the opening of an office in Berlin which will cover several markets, including France.

“The creation of Weebly comes from the need that we perceived among micro-entrepreneurs to create their business online (…) That is to say create their website which serves as a showcase to attract an audience, customers, present its products, go sell and get paid ”, explains to Frenchweb Anh-Tho Chuong, the country manager France at Weebly.

An offer adapted to the French market

The platform offers companies or self-employed workers to quickly create a website. For this, no need to know how to master the code, the Weebly platform is based on the “drag and drop” method. The idea is to create a platform that is as easy to use as possible for those who are new to code.

The company, which claims 30 million users worldwide, will however have to face competition from many players already present in France, such as Wix. More details Anh-Tho Chuong, country manager France at Weebly.
