The French group focuses on its media activities

Vivendi sold 41.5 million shares it held in Activision Blizzard for $ 850 million (622 million euros), which represents 5.8% of the shares of the American video game publisher . The French however still retains a little more than 6% of the capital.

Last October, the French group had already sold a large part of the 61% – it only had 12% left after – that it held in the capital of Activision, an operation which had enabled it to pocket 8.2 billion of dollars.

With this sale, Vivendi is re-centering its strategy on its media activities. In telecommunications, it sold SFR to Altice-Numericable for 13.5 billion euros and notably sold Maroc Telecom at the end of last April for 4.2 billion euros to the Emirati group Etisalat.
