Video conferencing: Russian Webinar .ru raises $ 7.3 million

by bold-lichterman

The Russian start-up Webinar.ru has just raised $ 7.3 million from Intel Capital and EBRD, as the main participants in the transaction, and Flint Capital and VTB Capital. It publishes a videoconferencing solution which presents itself as an alternative to Webex, Cisco’s widely used tool, which works on all types of devices (computer, mobile, etc.).

The company merged in 2012 with COMDI, which offered broadcasting services. Among its customers are Siemens. Webinar does not require downloading or installing any software and can stream up to high definition image. It is also possible to share documents in video form to work collaboratively. This new investment will allow it to expand internationally.
