As announced yesterday on Twitter by Delphine Ernotte-Cunci, Managing Director of Orange France, the operator has exceeded the bar of 200,000 subscribers to its fiber optic to home (FTTH) offer.
By doubling its number of subscribers in one year, Orange is thus positioning itself as a leader in a sector which had only 315,000 customers at the end of December 2012 according to Arcep. At the end of 2012, the France Telecom subsidiary had 176,000 subscribers after attracting 84% of new customers in the 3rd quarter and nearly 73% in the 4th.
The very high-speed Internet market continues to develop, with 1.6M subscribers for 8.9M eligible households according to Arcep. 2.2M French households being eligible for FTTH.
In the field of fiber to building (FTTB), Numéricable is doing well by announcing 1.26M subscribers yesterday.
