[Touch Marketing] Swiss start-up Poken raises $ 2 million

Poken, a Swiss start-up specializing in NFC technologies in touch marketing, has just completed a fundraising of 2M $, with Swisscom Ventures and Credit Suisse.


Founded in 2007, the company, until now based in Lausanne, has mainly focused on a BtoB business. The idea developed by the company: eliminate all flyers, brochures, or even business cards to replace them with fully digitized and interactive information, accessible through a “poke” system, by touching a tag with his smartphone, equipped with a dedicated application, or by touching this same tag with a kind of small usb key, called Poken.

The start-up also announces the arrival of a new CEO in the person of Sri Chilukuri and the relocation of its head office to Palo Alto, California. Stéphane Doutriaux, founder and current CEO of Poken, will remain within the company as Chief Product Officer.

As a reminder, the start-up was recently awarded at the Global Mobile Awards 2012 in Barcelona.
