Sunny Paris, former founder of Weborama, has decided to dust off the CRM and is not going all the way, going so far as to baptize its new service You Don’t Need a CRM! The editorial staff went to meet him:

FW: How did you get the idea for your company?

Sunny Paris: We have been working in the publishing of collaborative software in SaaS for a few years now and in our daily lives we were disappointed by the current CRM tools (and ours in particular) and I suggested that we use our internal social network at the place. It immediately worked and we said to ourselves that there was significant potential there but that it had to be validated. In 1 month we launched an alpha version that we tested with users around the world. The reception of this version, however quite spartan, was enthusiastic. We provided the solution to a daily problem that plagued alpha testers. We said to ourselves “Let’s go! Let’s create a service for all those who are disappointed with CRM and call it ”!

FW: What need are you responding to?

Sunny Paris: All businesses need to close deals, and today no software simply does it. We talk about CRM, (customer relationship management) but most companies do not need tools to manage their customer, they need tools to help them transform their prospects into customers.
We want to make life easier for salespeople, help them close their opportunities and stop wasting their time filling out fields in forms.

FW: How do you make money?

Sunny Paris: The service is available online for less than € 8 per user per month

Who are your competitors?

Sunny Paris: There are so many that it would take an entire directory to list them, fortunately it is a huge market. Let’s say that we find a jumble of SalesForce, Zoho CRM, Highrise, Microsoft dynamics, Sugar CRM… These CRMs are too complex, they all work on very structured data and require a lot of effort before even knowing if the lead is going. turn into a customer. They are not suitable for small structures.

FW: What or which companies are you being compared to in error?

Sunny Paris: I suggest that we do an interview again in a year on the subject, I would have a more precise idea 😉

FW: What was one of the first issues in your development, and how did you deal with it?

Sunny Paris: Keep it simple! How to make the interface simple and how to put just the right features into the service. Do not use too many sorting features, for example so as not to overwhelm the user. Always allow him to simply arrive at the information he expects.

Our alpha test helped us enormously on this point. We launched a very spartan alpha version, very, very quickly. We have listened to our users and we have prepared, based on their feedback, adapting to their way of working, a completely rewritten new version of the service that is being released today.

FW: What is your main asset in this market?

Sunny Paris: Our application itself and its philosophy. Allow you to create leads in seconds (from the application, from your mobile via a business card, an Excel file, from your site). Then find all these leads on the To-Do page, process them, see them disappear and see them reappear at the right time at the top of the list thanks to the alarm clock feature.

FW: What is the best piece of advice you’ve been given and by whom?

Sunny Paris: “Vitamins are great, but what you need is a painkiller” Dave McClure 🙂

FW: Who is the personality you admire the most?

Sunny Paris: Pierre Desproges. People like him are sorely missed in our current society… But that takes us away from CRM 😉
