The French Front raise $ 10 million, especially from the founder of Slack
The American start-up Front, created by the French Mathilde Collin and Laurent Perrin, announces a fundraising of 10 million dollars (8.9 million euros approximately) from Mamoon Hamid (Social Capital), from Stewart Butterfield ( the co-founder of the collaborative work platform Slack) and Eoghan McCabe. This is the company’s second round of funding since it had already raised $ 1.5 million in 2014.
Founded in 2013, Front is developing a collaborative business email management platform. For example, it is possible to comment on messages between several collaborators, to ensure that several employees do not reply to the same e-mail or to set automatic reminders. In addition, a tool offers to save time in formulating answers to the most common questions thanks to a “one-click” solution.
Based in San Francisco, the company Front, which was notably supported by the famous American accelerator Y Combinator in the United States, today claims more than 1,000 companies using its solutions around the world, including Viadeo, LVMH, TF1 or even HEC Paris. “The goal is to go from 1,000 to 10,000 paying companies by the end of 2017. And ideally never to need to raise funds again”, explains to Frenchweb Mathilde Collin.
With this new fundraising, Front, which dreams of being a “Slack for external communication”, intends to continue developing services, which will notably involve the recruitment of new employees. “There are 16 of us today. We would like to be 35 by the end of the year and 70 by the end of next year, ”explains Mathilde Collin.
