Yesterday, there was a new episode of the famous keynote held by Steve Jobs on the occasion of the opening of the Worldwide Developers Conference 2011. Among the announcements of OS X Lion and iCloud, it was about the new mobile operating system iOS 5 which will be available next fall.
The arrival of this version implies big changes since it has 200 new features. Of course, it’s impossible to go through them all, here are the top 5:
1 – Twitter, natively integrated in iOS 5. A single authentication will be necessary to then have the possibility of “tweeting” from any compatible applications (Safari, Contacts, YouTube, Maps, etc.).
2 – iMessage (somewhat taken from BlackBerry Messenger), messaging compatible between iOS devices allowing the exchange of texts, photos, videos.
3 – Notifications, which abandon the intrusive pop-up format and are grouped together in a banner at the top of the screen, like Android.
4 – PC Free, which makes it possible to abandon the compulsory use of PC and iTunes to activate and configure an iPhone / iPod / iPad. Updates will now be “over the air”.
5 – Reminders, allowing you to create task lists and associate a reminder system, synchronization between the different iOS devices and access via iCal and Outlook.
