Big Blue bets big on Linux

A billion: this is the amount that IBM has spent to support free software Linux, according to the Wall Street Journal.

This investment, which will be spread over several years, will allow Linux to develop applications for data management adapted to new servers from IBM, Power.

This development should take place in the new customer center that IBM intends to open in Montpellier. The last such center to open in May 2013 is located in China.

Another project that this investment should make it possible to carry out: the establishment of a development cloud, which IBM customers can use to manufacture Linux applications.
