The start-up Tanker, which is developing a cybersecurity solution for developers, has completed a funding round of 6 million euros led by Idinvest Partners. AXA Strategic Ventures, Kima Ventures, the fund Xavier Niel, and InnovAllianz also participated in this operation.
Founded in March 2015 by Guillaume Pontallier, Clément Ravouna and Cédric Gestes, Tanker provides software developers and publishers with an end-to-end encryption solution and a key management platform, which can be integrated in the form of an SDK. The solution is implemented directly in the code of SaaS applications, so as to secure the data hosted by cloud platforms. Thus, companies do not need to install additional infrastructure.
Tanker is a complementary offering to online storage services like Dropbox and Google Drive to protect business data. “These are great solutions, but they do not provide full ownership of the data. It’s very complicated to set up, and that’s why we spent two years in R&D to provide this solution», Explains Clément Ravouna, co-founder of Tanker.
The objectives of the Start-up
With this investment, Tanker plans to accelerate its international development. To support this expansion, the young growth plans to strengthen its technical and commercial teams.
