SymfonyLive, SensioLabs’ innovation showcase

by bold-lichterman

The 9th edition of SymfonyLive in Paris brought together more than 750 developers, independent or employees, who came to listen to the latest innovations of the PHP framework. For SensioLabs, the French company that publishes Symfony, the stakes are twofold. It is a question both of bringing its open source community to life, but also, in an exchange system based on free access, of making the activity profitable. SensioLabs must therefore anticipate the expectations of engineers using its solution.

And for that, its technological watch must be done all over the world. To ensure that the best talents are recruited, the company co-founded by Fabien Potencier in 2012 has just reviewed its internal working methods.

We have set up a distributed business organization: we no longer take into account the geographical location which is no longer a major criterion. Of the fifteen employees recruited since January 1, we have 13 or 14 different locations. This implies getting everyone on board, sharing a vision, methods and finally this love for Symfony and for open source, ”explains Grégory Pascal, co-founder of SensioLabs.

Maisons du Monde, Lagardère, Meetic … the large groups have come to learn in particular about “streamline the customer journey between the store and the website ”.
