[Start-up de la semaine] Moodstocks: scanning objects with a smartphone

by bold-lichterman

Moodstocks is a start-up founded in 2007, specialized in the recognition of images in augmented reality. Concretely, it uses the process of scanning objects using the photo sensor of a smartphone.

Recently, the young Parisian startup convinced Gaumont-Pathé to integrate its scanning solution into the campaign to promote the film American Pie 4. Internet users can reserve their cinema tickets by pointing their mobile at the film poster.

Moodstocks opens its platform to developers and provides the tools (API, SDK). The objective is to become a benchmark platform on this target.

The company was first supported by the Ecole Centrale in incubation. In 2009, she won the competition to help the creation of technologically innovative companies organized by the Ministry of Research and receives support from successful entrepreneurs on the web. Moodstocks now markets its technology to Auchan, Castorama, or Citroën.
