The start-up Starship Technologies, launched by the founders of Skype, Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis, has completed a funding round of $ 17.2 million led by Daimler. Founded in 2014, the company has developed a six-wheeled robot capable of moving autonomously in an urban environment. Its capabilities allow it to deliver small packages and items within a radius of 5 kilometers around its home base. As for the delivery time, it is between 5 and 30 minutes.

The devices have already been tested on public streets in Europe and South America. The company even launched a small-scale commercial service in London last year. With this investment, Starship Technologies plans to continue the development of its delivery robots around the world.
