The listing of Snapchat becomes clearer. Ephemeral messaging has chosen the banks Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs to lead the IPO of Snap, the new name of the Californian start-up since the end of September. Scheduled for March 2017, this transaction could value the company up to $ 25 billion at least. In addition to Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, financial institutions JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, Allen & Co, Barclays and Credit Suisse will oversee the operation.
Snap’s IPO would be one of the largest IPOs across the Atlantic since Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba’s IPO in September 2014. It would allow ephemeral messaging to regain a head start on Instagram which launched “Stories”, a community tool last August. The latter uses the codes of Snapchat with the publication of mini-video sequences which, gradually coupled, form a “story” to share with followers. In early October, the photo social network claimed to have reached the 100 million user mark on “Stories” in less than two months, the same number of users claimed by Snapchat.

The group TDF, which offers TV (TNT) and radio broadcasting network services, has just finalized the acquisition of the group ITAS, specializing in TV and radio broadcasting. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. This buyout allows the TDF group to enrich its TV and radio broadcasting offering with the integration of a complementary network of nearly 400 sites in France.
In addition, the company will benefit from the contribution of ITAS for the construction of pylons as part of its development strategy in telecommunications. “ITAS provides the TDF group with solid infrastructures, a leading regional network and industrial know-how which are essential for the consolidation of our historic “TowerCos” activities (network equipment)“, Explain Olivier Huart, CEO of TDF.
In the first half of the year, Google received nearly 45,000 inquiries about its users from administrations and courts around the world, according to the last transparency report published by the Mountain View firm. This represents an increase of 10% compared to the second half of 2015, and if we compare these data to the first half of 2015, we even reach 27% growth. The California-based company says it partially responded to 64% of these requests, proportionally less than in 2010, when it granted 76% of the inquiries received.
In France, more than 4,300 requests for information were made between January and June 2016, barely 3% more than in the second half of 2015, but 23% more than in the first half. Note, less than 0.4% of these requests concerned urgent disclosure requests.
