by bold-lichterman

How are stores renewing themselves to satisfy all the desires of increasingly demanding customers? Answers on the Paris Retail Week which will be held from September 19 to 21 at Paris expo Porte de Versailles.

With digitization, robotization and the advancement of new technologies, commerce is undergoing profound changes: robots to help storekeepers, augmented or virtual reality for a unique customer experience and new means of payment.

Below is a selection of innovations that are shaking up our daily lives. You can test them and discover them at the show Paris Retail Week from 19 to 21 September 2017 at Paris Expo Portes de Versailles.

Augmented / virtual reality: a new deal for stores?

The start-up Keyveo will offer two immersive experiences:

  • comexposium1Virtual visit of a store with an HTC VIVE headset. Teleport and physically move around a store using virtual reality. Here you can do your shopping, choose a product and view its price and additional information. It is now possible in small areas to virtually present an entire store, regardless of its size.
  • comexposium2Objects and products in mixed reality with Hololens. These glasses developed by Microsoft allow you to project and visualize a sofa in your living room, for example, to see how it will be integrated into the general decoration.

comexposium3Together offers a fun use of 3D to capture the attention of passers-by in shopping streets. The Hypervsn system makes it possible to broadcast 3D videos at points of sale or passage thanks to a beam of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This completely innovative and unique system is the ideal tool to promote a powerful pole of attractiveness to customers thanks to the effect of the 3D hologram. This product is intended for all types of traders, large and small stores, exhibitions, museums, stadiums, concerts. Video here.

comexposium4The French start-up SmartPixels proposes to transform any object into a screen. This technology is based on a combination of augmented reality and projection-mapping, so each object can be transformed into a communication and interaction tool. Video here.

When data makes shopping easier

comexposium5Angus.Ai offers solutions based on smart cameras to analyze the behavior of visitors on the shelves and allow stores to directly identify improvements to be made. Sellers have real-time access to the data.

Wassa, meanwhile, it offers a new tracking and analysis solution to identify typical point-of-sale behavior. This solution is operated on the basis of self-learning algorithms (machine learning) and intended for shopping centers as well as retail players.

comexposium6In terms of security, RemAuth offers a password-less authentication infrastructure to improve the security of connected services thanks to the biometric recognition (fingerprint). RemAuth eliminates the main vulnerability of connected services. In fact, according to Verizon, passwords are responsible for 63% of actual data breaches.

The game to attract customers

comexposium7After the success of Pokémon Go in the summer of 2016, several start-ups are riding the wave of gaming to offer fun shopping.

Zeez works like Pokémon Go and transforms the street as a playground for brands. The application offers its users (the target is between 12 and 25 years old) to take up the challenges offered by their favorite brands, intended, ultimately, to bring them to a point of sale.

Dilit also started from the idea of Pokémon Go to offer discount e-coupons. The Dilt community does not catch Pokémon via their smartphone but good deals and discounts at partner merchants.

The payment revolution

If today contactless payment is generalized, other forms are emerging. Ingenico ePayments offers a solution for pay for items or products directly via instant messengers. If a consumer spots an item on Facebook and the company has the solution, the consumer can engage with the brand through Messenger and pay for their product directly.
