SensioLabs, behind Symfony PHP, raises 5 million euros

The French startup SensioLabs, publisher of solutions open source for the development of web applications, raised 5 million euros from CM-CIC Capital Privé. She was advised by Global Equities CF for this transaction.

Already present in France, Germany and the United Kingdom, the company wishes to take advantage of this investment to accelerate its international development, particularly in the United States. “Symfony, developed in France, benefits from a strong international community,” explains Pascal Mercier, managing director at Global Equities Corporate Finance.

The company also designs PHP application audit solutions to measure the quality of applications or promote their deployments. “We have been following the Symfony adventure for many years and are happy to support Fabien and Grégory in this new stage of their development. We share their relevant vision of the evolution of the web and appreciate the quality of their achievements and entrepreneurial paths over the past 15 years, ”declares Nicolas Meunier, Director of Participation at CM-CIC Capital Privé.

Founded in 2005, SensioLabs is at the origin of framework PHP Symfony, the most used on the internet, according to her, in particular by the content manager Drupal or the phpBB discussion forum solution. With 7 million euros in turnover in 2013, it plans to recruit around 100 people within two years.
