[SEN#6] The ranking of Digital Services Companies (ESN, formerly SSII) which will recruit in early 2017

As part of its 6th Digital Employment Week (SEN # 6), Frenchweb is interested in recruitment forecasts for French companies. After an initial ranking of the 100 companies that recruit the most in digital, Frenchweb emphasizes recruitment forecasts for Digital Service Companies (ESN).

Particularly active alongside companies to support them in their digital transformation, ESNs are one of the drivers of digital employment, if we are to believe their recruitment forecasts. The 76 service companies appearing in the “ranking of ESNs that are recruiting” state that they have planned more than 13,800 recruitments for the next six months, ie 1.7 times more than the companies in the Top 100.

Another observation, where 78% of recruitments planned by the Top 100 companies are permanent contracts, the proportion drops to 90% for permanent contracts in ESN. On the other hand, the latter have foreseen “only” 46% of job creation over the period (against 52% for the Top 100 companies).

The Open group leads the ESNs recruiting

Among the main recruiters over the period, we find the group at the top Open, who declares to have planned more than 500 recruitments by the end of June 2017, mainly profiles of engineers, but also specialists in Big Data, IoT and e-commerce.

In the second position Sopra Steria, has also planned to recruit more than 500 people as consultants, design and development engineers, and project managers in particular. Econocom For its part, it comes in third place, with more than 500 recruitments also announced, for sales engineer, pre-sales engineer or even project manager.

More than half of recruitments for 10% of ESNs

Finally, the last lesson of the study, 4 companies out of 10 appearing in the ranking have planned less than 25 recruitments. The 10% of ESNs with more than 4,000 employees should thus achieve more than half of the recruitments declared over the period.

** Methodology : Ranking established on the basis of data collected via an online questionnaire on the Frenchweb site, from September 26, 2016 to November 2, 2016. 391 companies responded to the survey on their recruitment details for the last quarter of 2016 as well as the first half of 2017. 278 respondents fall into the “Companies” category, 76 into those of “Digital Service Companies (ESN)”, and 35 into that of “Recruitment Firms”.
The Ranking of ESNs that are recruiting includes the data declared by respondents in the “ESN” category, excluding companies and firms, which are treated separately. Three criteria were combined to determine the final ranking: the number of declared recruitments, le number of job creations declared, and the ratio of planned recruitments / total workforce of the company.
