Samsung has just announced, on the occasion of World Mobile Congress Barcelona, wanting to double its sales of tablets in 2013 according to Younghee Lee, marketing manager for the brand’s mobile division.

Anticipating a slowdown in sales in the mobile telephony sector, from which the manufacturer is drawing 70% of its profits, Samsung should therefore sell 40M tablets in 2013. In the last quarter of 2012, the Korean recorded a 213% increase in tablet sales compared to the previous year, going from 7.3% to 15.1% PdM.

Unveiling its Galaxy Note 8 tablet, Samsung hopes, as in the smartphone market, to take the lead against Apple, which dominates the tablet market with 66M units sold.
