Almost 70% of Samsung’s operating profit comes from the sale of smartphones, tells us Business Insider through this graph.
A figure that is confirmed throughout 2012 and which shows, as for its competitor Apple, the dependence of the world leader in the smartphone market on this sector. The Korean brand’s quarterly operating profit grew by 57% in 2012 across all businesses to reach $ 8.27 billion in the first quarter of 2013. With 213M units sold in 2012, the profits made on sales of Samsung smartphones represent nearly $ 6 billion on the same date.
Note, however, the marginal share represented by sales of touchscreen tablets.
