Frenchweb: How did you get the idea of your society ?

Maxime Agostini : I was at Criteo when the real-time bidding (RTB) landed in Europe and it appeared that predictive technologies based on Big-data were developing at the time. Nicolas and Vincent (Chief Science Officer and Chief Technology Officer, ndlr), in their first start-up, could bring enormous value to rationalize the sale of advertising space. It is from this observation that AlephD was born in 2012.

What need are you responding to?

The RTB allowed buyers to deploy very fine purchasing strategies because they were decided on the fly on each impression. Space sellers were left behind and our technology allows them to adapt their sales strategy just as effectively.

Very simply, how do you earn of money?

Our services provide information in advertising auctions. This information makes it possible to better value each space. Our solutions deliver directly quantifiable results and we take a share of the value created.

Who are your competitors?

Our services cover a broad spectrum of the needs of space sellers in the yield at business intelligence through the contribution of real-time data to auctions. We therefore enter into competition with companies that offer tools for business intelligence, solutions of yield or even to some extent the data providers.

alephDWhat was one of the first issues in your development, and how did you deal with it?

One of the first problems was to integrate with the platforms for exchanging advertising space. Large local media sites have trusted us for the management of their spaces and have allowed us to become known to AppNexus, the most efficient RTB platform which also has the advantage of being the most open to start-ups.

What is your main asset in this market?

Our know-how lies in the ability to use very advanced mathematical algorithms even within advertising auctions, thousands of times per second. They are based on very long histories as well as on information from the very last impressions served. Such sophistication based on real Big data is extremely innovative for space sellers.
