Renault announces the opening in Paris of a Renault Open Innovation Lab called Le Square. The 2,500 m2 space is located in the heart of Paris, near the Place de la République. Renault’s internal teams will work in collaboration with external teams (start-ups, etc.). This Lab will be designed to reflect around three main themes: new technologies, connected cars and electric vehicles.

This space is the third opened by the group. The first was created in 2011 in the heart of Silicon Valley to work around the autonomous car and the connected car. The second is in Tel Aviv. Since 2016, the teams have been thinking about topics related to electric vehicles, cybersecurity and after-sales.

The objective of these Renault Open Innovation Labs is to promote intrapreneurship within the group and to develop partnerships with various start-ups. A project in collaboration with the Israeli start-up OSV was presented at CES in Las Vegas. It was a concept car called POM. The vehicle, modeled on the Twizy car, is available in open source. It is thus possible to modify it as desired.
