Pubgame, Taiwanese publisher of mobile games, has just finalized a new round of funding which brings the total amount of funds raised to 5 million dollars, or 3.8 million euros.

The transaction was notably led by the CID Group, a Shanghai-based venture capital firm with the participation of appWorks Ventures.

Thanks to this capital increase, the company intends to expand its business to the entire Southeast Asian market and deploy a social gaming platform that will allow players to communicate with each other.

Founded in 2011 by Ben Tseng, Pubgame today boasts a base of nearly 1 million players, of which 60% to 70% are located in Taiwan, 10% to 15% in Hong Kong and roughly 10% are based in Singapore, Malaysia and other countries in Southeast Asia.

Pubgame publishes a total of 16 different titles with one or two new games added each month. The company primarily caters to a male audience between the ages of 25 and 40.
