The French group Private sell, specializing in event sales, takes a majority stake in the Polish site Zlotewyprzedaze, “considered a benchmark player in event sales in Poland“. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. However, the management team of the Polish company remains at the head of Zlotewyprzedaze.
With this acquisition, Vente-privee is continuing its internationalization. “This new acquisition demonstrates our long-term vision for the company, and marks a new major step in our deployment in Europe.», Explains Jacques-Antoine Granjon, founder and CEO of Vente-privee. As part of its European expansion, the French group had acquired the Spanish Privalia last April. Vente-privee boasts 50 million members around the world. Last year, the e-merchant recorded a turnover of 2 billion euros, up 12%.
The Nantes start-up Lengow, which markets software for optimizing e-merchant catalogs, has just signed a partnership with the Chinese Azoya, a company specializing in cross-border e-commerce solutions with China. “We lacked a good local partner, who had real knowledge of this particular market, and took into account the Chinese web environment and local realities.“, Explain Nenad Cetkovic, COO of Lengow.
This technological alliance provides for the adaptation of Lengow APIs for Azoya systems, thus providing a gateway to the Chinese market for all of the Nantes company’s customers. With Azoya, Lengow will also help merchants who wish to enter the Chinese market to develop their sales. This partnership is part of Lengow’s internationalization strategy. In October, the Nantes start-up announced the opening of an office in Germany. To date, Lengow claims to support nearly 3,600 merchants in 45 countries around the world.
Three years after its IPO, Criteo is doing well, if we are to believe its quarterly results announced on Wednesday, November 2. With a turnover of 424 million dollars in the third quarter of 2016, Criteo has indeed posted a 27% increase in its revenues compared to the same period in 2015 (+ 25% at constant exchange rates). Its net income has more than doubled in the space of a year (+ 154%), and reached $ 15 million. Another observation is that 57% of its turnover comes from mobile.
Beyond these purely financial indicators, the French company specializing in retargeting declares that it has convinced 1,000 new customers to trust it. It thus approaches 13,000 customers in total.
In France, Facebook claims more than 30 million French active users each month. YouTube claims 25 million, according to data presented by Wifeo in his infographic “Social media audience in 2016“. Based on the study carried out by the website development platform, Internet users spend an average of 20 minutes per day on their favorite social network.
