If you need medication in the middle of the night or on a Sunday, Pharma Express can overtake you. The French start-up has designed a service to deliver non-prescription drugs and parapharmacy items in less than an hour, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Founded last December by Jordan Cohen and Elie Alexandre, Pharma Express aims to fill the lack of pharmaceutical services at night and on weekends.
From the mobile application, available on iOS and soon on Android, the patient can access a directory of pharmacy partners of the young growth to choose the one that is open and closest to him. After making his selection, he makes his payment directly from the application and only has to wait for the guaranteed delivery in one hour. Pharma Express charges 2.90 euros on each delivery and imposes logistical and technical costs on pharmacies.
Prescription drugs, the next step
For now, the service is only available in Paris but plans to deploy quickly in France. From the start of the school year in September, Pharma Express will extend its service to the entire Île-de-France before launching in Lyon, Bordeaux and Marseille. Subsequently, the start-up wants to ensure the delivery of drugs in less than 30 minutes in large cities. Ultimately, the young shoot intends to deliver all of France “to fill pharmaceutical deserts and serve villages», Says Jordan Cohen, co-founder and president of Pharma Express.
To support its expansion, the company is currently seeking to complete a funding round of 1 million euros. Pharma Express also wishes to expand its offer by ensuring the delivery of prescription drugs and by developing a digital prescription. This will include “traceability, history such as a health record and monitoring at delivery level“Says Jordan Cohen.
