Since this summer, Paris & Co set up the Paris Landing Pack Explore to allow 9 foreign start-ups to set up in Paris next October and benefit from a one-month acceleration program.
Two other sessions are planned in March and from mid-May to mid-June. This approach is in line with the City of Paris’ objective of welcoming 30% of innovative foreign companies to Parisian incubators by 2018. “At this stage, we will have welcomed more than 30 foreign start-ups in Paris & Co incubators in 2016. This is more than double the previous year, and we will further strengthen our actions to double this result again next year“, Explain Karine Bidart, co-managing director of Paris & Co.
9 start-ups from South Korea, the United States, Germany, Spain, Israel, Egypt and Taiwan will take part in this first session in October. MMOODDEELL (FashionTech), SmartUp Cities (Smart City IoT Solutions), Intuiteo (Healthcare and Lifestyle), Method Health (Wellness), Welt (Wearable technology, Healthcare, Fashion), Whishupon (E-commerce, Mobile Application), Smart Company ( Smart City), Koshk Comics (Media & Entertainment) and ThinkTank (Smart City & Mobility) are the start-ups selected by Paris & Co to benefit from this acceleration program.
Orange Digital Ventures announces its acquisition of a stake in the capital of SecBI, a start-up specializing in the detection of computer threats. The French manufacturer of drones and connected objects Parrot reassessed its revenue forecast for the 3rd quarter of 2016. In a communicated published on September 23 on its website, the company says it expects to achieve a turnover of around 55 million euros over the period, down slightly compared to the 2nd quarter, when it had achieved 56.6 million euros in turnover.
If we compare these estimates to the 3rd quarter of 2015, when the company posted a turnover of 77.8 million euros, the evolution is however more significant with an expected drop of 29%. “The acceleration of the drop in prices in recent weeks in the mid-range segment of the consumer drone market is impacting Parrot’s sales», Details the company in its press release, highlighting a net cash position of several hundred million euros and an innovative range of products to attest to its good health.
More than half of French employees would rather throw away all of their clothes than throw away all their digital files, according to the results of a study produced by Veritas. This result illustrates a widespread trend in businesses, including IT departments, of accumulating digital data.
While storing data puts the business at risk and costs money, it’s hard to change your habits, according to the study’s authors. 61% of employees would have started to organize their files, but would have stopped before the end, discouraged by the magnitude of the task.
** Methodology: study carried out in 13 different countries, with more than 10,000 office workers and IT decision-makers. The infographic is unfocused on France.
