After several months of rumors, the operator announced this Wednesday, November 28, the net loss of 856 jobs.
In detail, SFR has lifted the veil on a voluntary departure plan involving 1,123 positions and the creation of 267 positions, AFP reports.
Announced last July, this device therefore corresponds to the main estimates of the unions, which were counting on a loss of nearly a thousand jobs, or 10% of the workforce.
This social plan aims to restore the competitiveness of the Vivendi subsidiary, in particular following the arrival of Free on the mobile market. It is also part of a broader savings program initiated by the group. Le Journal du Dimanche believed to know, this summer, that it could amount to 1 billion €.
As a reminder, on July 4, the operator Bouygues Telecom had confirmed a voluntary departure plan for 556 positions out of 9,800 employees.
