The founders of the Oculus Rift project, which offers a very immersive experience to fans of video games, have just completed a fundraising of 16 million dollars, or 12 million euros.

This first round of funding was carried out with Spark Capital and Matrix Partners funds. Following this operation, the managers of the two investment structures will join the board of directors of the company.

Awarded at the E3 fair, Oculus Rift is presented by many industry specialists as the “revolutionary virtual reality mask”.

The project leaders had already succeeded in attracting many Internet users during a campaign conducted on Kickstarter. The founders were initially looking to raise $ 250,000 (187,000 euros), but had received, within a month, a financial contribution of 2.4 million dollars (1.8 million euros).
