The boss of Numéricable Patrick Drahi has just entered into exclusive negotiations with the holding company of Virgin Mobile with a view to the takeover of MVNO, led by Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux.

Vivendi will participate in the amount of 200 million euros in the financing of this acquisition, which will help to develop the stake that it intends to hold in Numericable after its merger with SFR.

Virgin Mobile had to contend with the price war in the mobile market and thus saw its gross operating income fall by more than 16% from 30 million euros to 25 million euros during its fiscal year 2012-2013.

With more than 1.6 million subscribers in its portfolio, the brand is the leading virtual mobile operator (MVNO) in France. The company achieves a turnover of 468 million euros. The company has more than 500 advisers and a network of 2,500 points of sale, including 75 Virgin Mobile stores.
