As part of its international development, the online ticketing service Eventbrite just launched a French version and fully localized of its platform. This new version comes with simultaneous launches in eight other countries.
Based in San Francisco and co-founded in 2006 by Frenchman Renaud Visage, the start-up allows Internet users to plan, promote and sell tickets for all types of events online.
In total, the Eventbrite solution has sold more than 54M tickets since its inception. In 2011, events were held in over 170 different countries and nearly 20% of its revenue was generated outside of the United States.

A few days ago, the start-up launched a credit card reader for iPad. The new device offers therefore the possibility for the organizers to sell and issue entrance tickets directly at the event venues. The company also plans to develop a partnership with Square.
Eventbrite counts among its investors Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, DAG Ventures and Tenaya Capital. His last fundraising was $ 50M.
