Hot flash in connected thermostats. While Nest recruited at the beginning of February Lionel Paillet, a former Apple employee, to deploy the brand on the European continent, the French Netatmo is accelerating for its part and is launching in five new European countries (United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands , Italy, Spain), bringing the number of covered markets on the Old Continent to seven (France and Belgium).

To finance this new step, the company had raised 4.5 million euros in June 2013 with Iris Capital, FSN PME (Bpifrance) and Pascal Cagni (ex-CEO Europe of Apple).

Up to 25% energy savings

With its connected thermostat, Netatmo allows users to control the temperature of their home directly from their smartphone. Software can also modify the temperature automatically, depending on the habits and isolation conditions of the home. The data can then be viewed on an online platform. Marketed from 179 euros, this thermostat would achieve energy savings of up to 25% according to the company’s website.

Founded in May 2011 by Fred Potter, Netatmo opened an American office last April. She had won 3 CES Awards 2013 for her thermostat. This year, she was distinguished at this great event for her JUNE bracelet in the competition CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards 2014 in the categories ” Wearable Technologies “And” Tech for a better World “.
