THE NUMBER – 5 million euros: the amount of fundraising that the Israeli start-up MyCheck has just completed with the recently launched Spanish fund Santander Innoventures.

BUSINESS – Mobile payment: MyCheck publishes an application allowing you to pay the bill at the restaurant thanks to a smartphone. Originally, in 2011, it first targeted consumers. It has now changed course and is applying a B to B model. It publishes a payment platform for restaurant chains and hotel establishments.

Many other players (more or less large) market mobile payment applications aimed at professionals in the hotel and catering industry, for example PayTop, Square, Flashiz, Zelty, Skimm and even PayPal.

OBJECTIVES – Extend geographic coverage

For the moment, this tool which eliminates the need for the server is used in Great Britain, Israel, Brazil and the United States but not in France. With this funding round, MyCheck CEO Shlomit Kugler hopes to expand the service further in the United States and Western Europe. He co-founded the company with Erez Spatz and Tal Zvi Nathanel. All three are preparing to invest in marketing and recruiting senior salespeople to canvass key markets.
