The Bordeaux start-up Yescapa, specializing in the rental of motorhomes, vans and converted vans between individuals, has just completed a funding round of 3 million euros with the Maif Avenir fund. This lifting comes less than five months after the change of identity of the French company. When it was created, it was called JeLoueMonCampingCar. Last year, Yescapa raised 550,000 euros.
Founded in 2012 by Benoît Panel and Adrien Pinson, Yescapa is developing a platform to connect individuals to rent a motorhome, van or van. The start-up claims a fleet of more than 3,000 vehicles available and more than 85,000 users located in France, Germany and Spain. Yescapa’s business model is based on the deduction of a commission of 15% of the amount of the transaction between owner and tenant.
In the motorhome rental market, players have multiplied in recent years, like the German Campanda, which swallowed the French start-up Airvy at the start of the year. The Berlin-based company, which has a presence in more than 900 cities in around 40 countries around the world, aims to become the world leader in motorhome rental. In the southwest of France, Wikicampers has also positioned itself in this segment.
The objectives of the Start-up
With this new investment, Yescapa plans to continue its international expansion. “It is to meet the demands and needs of this growing community that we are going to expand our services internationally, starting with cross-border countries.», Explains Benoît Panel, co-founder and CEO of Yescapa. With this in mind, the Bordeaux start-up is preparing to launch its platform in new countries by 2017.
