The Redmond giant would prepare a new model.
Half-hearted quarterly review for Microsoft’s Surface tablet. After generating 893 million dollars in revenue over the last three months of 2013, it has just experienced a lighter quarter: it sold for 500 million dollars in the first quarter of 2014. Sales at the end of the year years had been amplified by the launch of a new model in October and for sales related to the holiday season. Microsoft nevertheless continues to dominate the field of convertibles thanks to Surface.
Like most companies that sell consumer electronics products, Microsoft is experiencing a surge in sales during the holiday period, so it is not surprising to then experience a proportional quarterly decline, as recalled by the specialized US site VentureBeat. Rumors have been circulating since last year about the launch of a new Surface Mini tablet in May, in a smaller size. Microsoft has yet to confirm.
