Microsoft and Cegid join forces in the cloud

Microsoft and Cegid are joining forces to launch a common offer integrating the solutions of the two companies, thus giving birth to “Office365 for Cegid”. This partnership offers better synchronization between the software of the Redmond firm (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher, Access, Lync) and those published by Cegid, all for 9.8 euros per month. Only Office365, the Microsoft cloud suite is concerned and not the classic Office suite.

A cloud solution adapted to businesses

The fluid integration of collaborative and SaaS tools such as Office 365 makes it possible to bring an important and complementary brick to the Cegid offer to continue to develop user productivity. This agreement with Microsoft is therefore fully in line with an approach resolutely focused on the evolution of uses and professions, with our customers in mind above all, ”said Patrick Bertrand, CEO of Cegid.

Cegid publishes business management solutions (payroll, human resources, taxation, finance, reporting, etc.) as well as products specifically designed for professionals (hotels, restaurants, public sector, accounting professions, etc.). This integration should help the French company to accelerate in the cloud while out of the 400,000 users of its solutions, 95,000 are in Saas (like a service, note).

Data in the cloud

“This agreement demonstrates all the use value that can be brought to our customers by the particularly successful“ Cloud to Cloud ”integration between Cegid’s online services and those of Microsoft. This opens up real prospects for enriching our SaaS service packages which will be continued, ”explains Patrick Bertrand.

However, these customers will have to accept that their company data is hosted by Microsoft, and not internally. However, they will be available for consultation from different connection points. The Redmond giant thus hopes to strengthen itself in the B2B segment, in particular in the face of players such as Salesforce, which also offer cloud management solutions. Listed on Euronext Paris (compartment B), Cegid has 13 international subsidiaries and 2,000 employees for a turnover of 260 million euros in 2013.
