In his latest study published today, ZenithOptimedia focused on the adoption of three new technologies (IPTV, smartphones and tablets) in the world’s top 19 digital markets.
We thus discover that the penetration rate of tablets on the world market should increase by 177% in 3 years, and thus reach 13% by 2015. Connected TVs should, for their part, benefit from a penetration rate of 9% in 2015 (+ 35.7% in 3 years), while smartphones should reach the record figure of 71.5% penetration (+ 50% in 3 years).
In the ranking of countries with the best adoption rate of new technologies in 2012, we find Norway (38.8%), followed by France, which reached 35.7% of penetration that year. A figure that could almost double since ZenithOptimedia forecasts a penetration rate of new equipment of 60.8% in France by 2015.
The Netherlands, Sweden, Canada and Denmark respectively take 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th places in the ranking.
