by bold-lichterman

From the interview with Vincent Rigau, CEO of Drone Interactive at Linksium to the selection of events not to be missed this month: an overview of the news of the Grenoble digital ecosystem with Deborah Donnier.

This month, Deborah Donnier conducts an interview with Vincent Rigau, CEO of Interactive Drone at Linksium

Deborah Donnier: You created ISKN in 2015, what is your company’s value proposition?

Jean-Luc Vallejo, co-founder & CEO: iskn was created in 2014 and not in 2015 to develop the Slate, a digital slate unique in the world since it allows you to draw with any pencil, pen, felt … on any paper. It combines the authenticity of the paper / pencil drawing experience with the power of digital technology.

Your product is available in nearly 350 points of sale in France. Last November, you announced its distribution via the toy specialist PicWic. Why expand to a younger audience?

We can talk about picwic but it is too specific and all the more so as our turnover is not significant enough for them to put so much emphasis. In any case, we can talk about the different brands and the development since 2016> Fnac, Boulanger, Darty, Cultura .. for France but also Amazon, MoMA Design store, Conran Shop .. for abroad.

You are present in the United Kingdom, in Germany and recently in the United States and soon in Asia. Why is internationalization important to you?

It is not that internationalization is ‘important’, it is above all that it goes without saying with a product that meets the needs of different markets, especially in Asia where we will be able to potentially conquer the market for education with a tool totally adapted to learning to write, a sensitive point in education in China, for example.

Added to this, an ambition to always think bigger. It was out of the question to be confined to a product distributed only in France, especially with such technology!

Do you have a turnover to communicate to us? How many clients do you have?

Provisional turnover for 2017: 8 M €. (+ 300%). We have around 60,000 Slate users around the world.

What are your ambitions for the coming year?

Conquer the world !

We have several nice projects in the works that I can’t tell you about right now .. but they may be talked about in the coming months.

We thought about the best ways to combine the strong development of artificial intelligence with our technologies … and several projects quickly took shape. 2018 is therefore an important or even a key year in the development and influence of iskn.

“How to remain human in a world of robots? “

March 1, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Deep learning, big data… IT technologies are progressing faster and faster. Every day, artificial intelligence is getting closer to how human intelligence works. It becomes more creative and its interfaces more intuitive. But the rise of artificial intelligence is accompanied by legitimate fears: will humans one day be overwhelmed?

What will make its specificity when the machine has evolved so much that even the notion of emotion will be relatively on a par with that of man?

Fantasy or reality, should we really be afraid of artificial intelligence? And what ethics to apply to it? Thierry Ménissier, philosopher of innovation and Vice-President of Human and Social Sciences Research at the University of Grenoble Alpes, will come to offer a space for reflexivity and discussion, without providing ready-made solutions, around the new relationships that we have maintain with the machines.

In the form of participatory workshops, it invites a foresight exercise in order to experience our freedom in a world filled with constraints and contradictions.
