[Made in Bordeaux] Coronavirus: these entrepreneurs who are preparing for the post-crisis period

by bold-lichterman

They work in the finance, healthcare, training, cybersecurity or marketing industry. They decided to share with us their confined experience of the moment and especially their energy to attack the recovery with panache! ” In each difficult period when entrepreneurs have to recover, we generally rely on energy, loyalty and solidarity. Today, in this time of health and economic crisis, these words resonate with great force. The virtues of cohesion, collaboration and teamwork are necessary to overcome the obstacles encountered by each company. So, let’s take the path of resilience and unity! »Cyril Texier, president of French Tech Bordeaux.

Tresoria – Tiffany Tinperman (CEO & co-founder)

Tresoria is a treasury software publisher and credit broker.

How do you experience confinement within your company?

In order to protect our employees, we decided on Friday 13 March to introduce teleworking. We were already using the necessary tools for remote work, so it all happened quickly. Concerning the organization, it is a collective video call by work pole in the morning and one in the evening. We insist on “video” because it is important not to feel isolated. We have also accelerated the establishment of our support group on Facebook: “tresoria community: cash management”, where we have joined beautiful FinTechs such as Libeo, Finexkap, Qard, Miimosa and Gcollect …

Have you developed a solution / offer / work organization during this period, which you will keep for the future?

Yes ! We have set up a “tréso diag” on financing and cash management for business leaders. We are participating in the collective effort by offering an hour of our expertise to support entrepreneurs in the current procedures (PGE, BPI, various aids … and prepare them for the recovery!) We plan, in the long term, to keep this diagnosis, very appreciated. We are even in the process of automating it through a sculpin.

What are you putting in place within your teams to prepare for the recovery?

At Trésoria, we are not “really” talking about a recovery since we have not stopped. On the contrary, even if it is true that the financing activity is slowed down, our expertise and our experience with French VSEs / SMEs have never been so valuable. We guide and help business leaders make the right choices and ask themselves the right questions.

Tell us a funny anecdote you experienced during this confinement.

Aurélie Sergent (co-founder) disguises herself according to the news every morning to motivate the teams: construction helmet when talking about business, ski mask when it has snowed after having been 20 ° the day before, mask to protect yourself of the virus… she gives us all her outfit and it feels good to laugh to start the day!

How do you experience confinement within your company?

Since the start of containment, we have detected a slowdown in activity and investment freezes for our customers / prospects. For this reason we have decided to put our entire team on short-time work. Only one of the associates and our amazing marketing intern stay 100%. The other two associates, including myself, juggle between caring for our children and providing help when we can to our small team.

Have you developed a solution / offer / work organization during this period, which you will keep for the future?

From the first days, we obviously measured the health impact, but also the economic impact that covid was going to generate. That is why we have decided to make some of our features available for free and others at lower prices. It is our small contribution to help the sites to face this crisis… while maintaining a link with our customers to know their current and future needs.

What are you putting in place within your teams to prepare for the recovery?

We are preparing what we did not take enough time to do before: a new website, a communication strategy, the preparation of new features to meet many current customer and prospect needs, our commercial takeover pipe as well as our approach. after confinement. But also the organization of the offices that we share with our two friends Archidvisor and Wanteeed in order to maintain the barrier gestures after May 11.

Tell us a funny anecdote experienced during this confinement.

During a video conference with one of our clients, my 2.5 year old son woke up from a nap and came running to the living room with a colander on his head to do a show with his little trumpet and maracas. This made our client laugh, who owns a company linked to the very young. The rest of the video was done at three, with my son by my side who was discussing with our client. After all, that’s real life too, and that doesn’t mean we’re less credible… but just as equal to each other.

SomanyWays – Anaïs Georgelin (founder)

SomanyWays offers training courses to enable everyone to find meaning at work and help managers develop the commitment of their teams.

How do you experience confinement within your company?

The team is between Bordeaux, Paris and Lille. We are therefore used to teleworking. Everything was already in place with us to collaborate well remotely. On the other hand, our activity was very affected (- 30% of annual turnover) because we still have a lot of training delivered in person.

Have you developed a solution / offer / work organization during this period, which you will keep for the future?

In recent weeks, our team has mobilized like never before to finalize the digitalization of our training. The project had been largely initiated before the crisis, and this “calm time” proved to be particularly conducive to creativity, an element necessary to digitally reproduce what makes the DNA of somanyWays: the human and the collective.

What are you putting in place within your teams to prepare for the recovery?

We dream about what we will do during our next team seminar. As soon as we can, we have all planned to go green!

Tell us a funny anecdote experienced during this confinement. The day when, during our virtual aperitif on Friday evening, a person from the team told us that they had a “virtual” boyfriend … unearthed during confinement time.

How do you experience confinement within your company?

We live it well. It was already in the way we operate, because we had a few colleagues working from home. The changeover was done quickly and smoothly: everyone got into telecommuting. We have ruled out the option of partial unemployment. Our work tools – some of which we develop ourselves – allow us to work effectively remotely.

Have you developed a solution / offer / work organization during this period, which you will keep for the future?

Once we were settled in, we had to hold out over time. For some, already, cohabitation with children is not easy. So understanding and empathy helped move forward. We adapt the schedules and move forward. Then, communication between us immediately turned out to be a topic. We have to create a link, so we created a weekly newsletter. It involves everyone and testifies to our projects, successes or provides strategic information. This newsletter is very much appreciated… Something tells me that it will last…

What are you putting in place within your teams to prepare for the recovery?

We are waiting to see how things will evolve to think about the operational part. After all, telecommuting can go on, that’s okay. Afterwards, it is especially on the commercial part that we ask ourselves a lot of questions. We are currently relying on our existing clients and prospecting has been frozen for all these weeks. To prepare for the recovery, we anticipate that it will not take place at all as before. So we assume that things will continue to be done remotely. We are developing our content to accelerate in this direction: digitize our commercial activity, clarify our communication, especially the website. For us, the stake is there, especially since we are launching a new product in September.

Tell us a funny anecdote you experienced during this confinement.

The one that comes to mind is very simple. When we went into confinement, both of them wondered how they were going to work at home. I remember saying to a collaborator: “ take your machine, your screen, and you will have everything ”. At that moment, his head expressed surprise: even though the work computer was not a laptop, he had just realized that it was portable anyway.

Satelia – Nicolas Pagès (CEO & founder)

Satelia is developing a remote monitoring application for heart patients, 100% reimbursed by social security.

How do you experience confinement within your company?

The digital culture (dematerialization, security, teleworking) was already established. The confinement is therefore well experienced from a professional point of view, but from a personal point of view for the members of the team, it is a little different…. Especially for the youngest who are in small apartments.

Have you developed a solution / offer / work organization during this period, which you will keep for the future?

This will not change our practices: work outside the premises has always been largely privileged. We even have a person who telecommuted from Réunion for several weeks last year to enjoy the sun.

What are you putting in place within your teams to prepare for the recovery?

It’s all a question of balance. Exceptional situations are part of the life of startups. This episode is for us an exceptional situation like any other, perhaps more psychologically striking for the youngest. The managers take care of the team, in this period as in other periods. We always take care of people, our products and the business. In that order.

Tell us a funny anecdote you experienced during this confinement.

We created our ideal world with the 20 people on the team… on Minecraft.
