[Le gadget de la semaine] Fitbit, to boost your physical activity!

by bold-lichterman

After the smartbracelet Nike FuelBand, here is the new slimming assistant 2.0. Baptized Fitbit, the small electronic device has just landed in France and allows you to collect all the calories burned during the day. Number of steps, distance covered, stairs climbed… The objective is to boost the physical activity of its users.

Launched in the United States in 2009, the gadget is barely larger than a usb key and comes in the form of a small clip to clip on. The electronic counter also makes it possible to measure the quality of sleep cycles and to integrate some data such as the nature of the meals.

Once all the data has been collected, the Fitbit pin automatically syncs to an online platform, accessible from the internet or from a dedicated mobile application and delivers a battery of information on the evolution of physical efforts.

Equipped with a mini LCD screen, the device displays the time, the scores obtained and even broadcasts a few messages to encourage users (“go”, “faster”). The gadget finally allows you to share your results with your “Fitbit” friends.

Fitbit will be on sale from May 7 at a price of € 99.
