Intel Capital invests in Bluestacks application emulator

Intel Capital has just performed a first operation in the application emulator Bluestacks. The precise amount of the investment was not disclosed, however.


BlueStacks publishes in particular a solution called App Player. Downloaded more than 5M times, it allows users to port their mobile applications to a Mac or Windows PC.

The technology developed by BlueStacks, therefore, allows mobile users to enjoy their favorite applications on larger screens. In total, the start-up offers a catalog of nearly 750,000 mobile applications that can be run on PC or Mac.

In its portfolio, Intel Capital has dozens of start-ups including: Baidu, Box, and Clearwire.
