Instant messaging: Secret raises $ 25 million

by bold-lichterman

The instant messaging app Secret just raised $ 25 million from Index Ventures (the same fund that invested $ 100 million in Blablacar a few days ago, editor’s note), Redpoint Ventures, SV Angel, Fuel Capital and Ceyuan Ventures.

The operation would value the company at $ 100 million according to the Wall Street Journal. In total, the company had already raised $ 8.6 million in March 2014.

Founded six months ago in San Francisco, the application lets users chat with contacts stored on their phone anonymously in order to “speak freely” (“speak freely”, the slogan of the service, note).
