A constantly evolving sector, geolocation (indoor and outdoor) is on everyone’s lips: it is a market that is estimated at 13 billion dollars by 2014. Google and Apple are among the giants to look into this area.
Locating a person only a few meters away in a given place is precisely the solution developed by Insiteo, a French company founded in early 2009. Insiteo is already marketing its solution for geolocation applications in wi-fi, and soon in indoor GPS in airports, shopping centers and museums. Insiteo is currently in negotiations with the RATP to equip the metro stations.
In particular, Insiteo won in 2008 the special prize of the European Space Agency at the Galileo Masters competition.
The company is based in Toulouse, Paris, London and Amsterdam and counts among its shareholders Innovacom, Emertec, Creathor Venture and a small group of private investors, including Anne-Sophie Pastel, co-founder of auFeminin.com and Vincent Mouret, former CEO of Nemerix.
