[INSIDERS] The Order of Physicians notes the “uberization of health” …
The National Order of Physicians (CNOM) has published his opinion on telemedicine and, more broadly, on electronic medical services. On December 18, he entrusted a mission to study, analyze and support new services to Jacques Lucas, the vice-president, general delegate for health information systems.
“The CNOM indeed notes an accelerated trend towards“ uberization of health ”. He noted a risk of drifting towards unregulated electronic commerce which would reduce medical practice to a simple electronic service for a fee, via platforms in the commercial sector, ”the Order indicated at the time in a press release.
In its report, the National Order of Physicians therefore publishes around ten points of attention. “The CNOM notes that at the end of the Major consultation it conducted, 70% of doctors indicated the need to integrate digital technology into the organization of care in the regions. The CNOM, acting as the interpreter of the profession, is resolutely placed in a dynamic of support for the new avenues offered by telemedicine and e-health, which must be at the service of the organization of care in the territories and at the service of patients. The CNOM considers that the services opened by intermediary companies with a commercial vocation cannot be freed from the French social contract in terms of social protection ”, declares the National Council of the Order of Physicians, through the voice of its president Patrick Bouet.

The pharmaceutical group Sanofi has just joined the France eHealth Tech association which was created last December. As a reminder, 59 companies had already joined this structure in order to be represented by public authorities and elected officials. We found in particular Doctolib or Honestica.
“Allowing e-health start-ups to become the unicorns of 2020 and, even more, to make e-health today, the health of tomorrow can only be done by co-constructing the approaches and models. The fact that Sanofi, the leading French healthcare company and one of the international leaders, is joining France eHealthTech as an associate member is a strong signal for the ecosystem ”, says Jérôme Iglésias, Chairman of the Economic and Industrial Commission of France eHealth Tech.
