Snap continues to grow in the cloud. The parent company of the ephemeral messaging application Snapchat plans to spend $ 1 billion on Amazon cloud services over the next five years. The deal will cost Snap $ 50 million this year. In the following years, the American company will increase its spending to reach 350 million dollars in 2021.
Separately, Snap has already reached a $ 2 billion deal with Google, also for the cloud, for the next five years. Going forward, Snap says it might choose to build its own cloud infrastructure. Snapchat’s parent company is expected to go public next month. On this occasion, Snap hopes to raise $ 3 billion to reach a valuation of around $ 25 billion.
