How Witbe intends to accelerate its international growth
“We have seen the market crystallize around requests for measuring the quality of experience for about two years”, explains to Frenchweb Marie-Véronique Lacaze, CEO of Witbe. This French company, which specializes in testing and monitoring solutions for services, assures us that companies have never been so concerned with “user experience”. In a context where online consumers have become demanding, Witbe provides companies with offers allowing them to check, sometimes in real time, the performance of the offers they offer.
Witbe works, for example, with developers to measure their Web and mobile applications, Internet service providers to assess the quality of their triple-play offers, or even VoD platforms that need to continuously ensure the speed of loading and good playback of videos. “We need, in a world where we no longer control networks at all, to know if, when HBO will serve you Game Of Thrones from a central server (…), you got it correctly ”, emphasizes Marie-Véronique Lacaze.
43% of turnover achieved in America
Among its customer portfolio, the company claims several large groups, such as Orange, BNP Paribas and Canal + in France, Comcast and Time Warner Cable in the United States or even the telecom operator Rogers in Canada. In all cases, the idea is to allow these service providers to detect a possible problem as quickly as possible in order to resolve it as quickly as possible. To develop its monitoring technology, Witbe ensures that around 30% of its workforce is dedicated to R&D.
Thus, Witbe reported a turnover of 15.2 million euros in 2015 – 43% of which was achieved in America – for a net profit of 1.8 million euros. To finance its development, the company went public last April – 16 years after its creation – raising more than 15 million euros. Funds which should enable the company to strengthen its internationalization. A new office in Denver, United States, was opened this month.
