Google has just revealed this new format via his blog. Media Ads goes beyond the current possibility of video extensions in Google’s sponsored links.
This time the video is brought to the fore, both literally and figuratively. It opens in large format in the center of the search page in a Lightbox media player while the page turns gray for better reading comfort.
Another novelty of Media Ads is its payment model by advertisers. Google specifies that the principle of auctions will not apply to this new format and that the cost per click will remain at a fixed rate for better control of their budgets by advertisers.
Initially, Media Ads will be reserved for large Hollywood studios for the promotion of their films before being extended to other clients.
